YES and Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk, VA collaborated to launch a pilot Media Arts and Technology Elective Course at the High School. The semester long course focused on both video and music production and supported the English and Computer/Technology Standards of Learning for the State of Virginia. Students trained at the school video production studio and at the YES professional music recording studio site located at the William A. Hunton YMCA, a few blocks from the school. The pilot project is the result of the vision of Booker T. Washington High School Principal, Ms. Watson, and represents her desire to engage students at the point of their passion in order to help them learn important technology and communication skills.
